Apple is looking to make a name for itself in Hollywood, with plans to spend $1 billion a year on movies that will be released in cinemas, Bloomberg reports, citing anonymous sources.
By ramping up production of original films, the tech giant hopes to satisfy the big screen demands of top talent and build the brand of its Apple TV+ streaming service.
Apple’s previous films were exclusive to streaming or released in a limited number of theatres; under the new plan, the biggest films should be in cinemas for at least a month.
