Hiccups are nothing but contractions of the diaphragm which are not under our control. And probably all of us experienced these at some point. Although hiccups go away on their own in sometime but they are a bit irritating and make it difficult for us to eat or converse. So here are a few remedies to get rid of them.


ANYTHING WHICH INCREASES THE SUPPLY OF CARBON DIOXIDE in the system can relax the diaphragm and help you get rid of your hiccups.

  1. DRINK A GLASS OF WATER QUICKLY
    So the normal household techniques we try is to drink a glass of water quickly. Basically, the logic behind that when you drink the water quickly, you cannot breathe at the same time. So the carbon dioxide needs to go up a bit.
  2. PINCH YOUR NOSE.The other things you should try are pinching your nose and continuing to swallow or having someone frighten you so that you briefly stop breathing enough for the carbon dioxide to still rise a little.
